About the role

We are looking for an energetic, independent-minded Senior Investment Professional to be a key member of our team in London. This position will require the individual to be certified under the SMCR, with the scope to grow into a member of the executive team. We want someone who will focus on establishing our quantitative investment methodology and then applying this, with our development and compliance teams to bring innovative features to our customers.

You will oversee our premium or discretionary managed portfolios, and work on not only our investment products but industry wide initiatives for the business — whether the current or future proposition.

As a small but growing team, we'll want you to actively participate in all aspects of the business with a 'can do' and 'roll your sleeves up' attitude and willing to take on responsibility. As a start-up we are always developing our Products - and you'll be instrumental in the release of exciting new services for UK investors and later overseas.

Our expectations of you

  • To enjoy the responsibility of being the Head of Investments
  • Ensure the business uses best practice methodologies for constructing its' investment portfolios
  • Clear communication, with the ability to discuss our products and methodologies with the media, stakeholders and our clients

What you will need


  • Be driven and determined to be part of a high-growth start-up team where you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact
  • To be prepared and be flexible in research through, knowledge and using industry contacts, to find answers where you may not have previous experience
  • Experience of working in financial services, ideally in B2C investment management, which will involve market abuse, best execution and the MiFID II requirements. With a sound knowledge of international expansions and pensions for UK investors
  • An understanding of investment operations and ability to help optimise systems and processes
  • Inspiring Leader of a team and influencer at all levels of an organization
  • Deep understanding of all academic and professional modern portfolio management techniques
  • Strong Knowledge of Industry Standards, FCA Rules/Guidance and other relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

  • At least 5 years of directly relevant experience as a Senior Investment Manager or Head of Investments and have been a certified and/or Senior Management Function Holder previously.
  • Ideally have obtained industry qualifications relating investment management such as IMC (CFA) or IAD (CISI)
  • Knowledge and experience of systems required to carry out your role, including Bloomberg, Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel), VBA. Understanding of programming languages is desirable.

    Business Analyst

    About the role

    We are looking for an energetic, independent-minded Business Analyst to be a key member of our team in London. We want someone who will focus on innovation in our product. Your job will involve delivering multiple projects for the business — whether the current or future proposition, or its commercial or regulatory requirements. As a small but growing team, we'll want you to actively participate in all aspects of the business with a 'can do' and 'roll your sleeves up' attitude. We're a start-up and you'll need to be willing to take on responsibility. With a major product development underway, you'll be instrumental in the launch of an exciting new service for investors in the UK which we then plan to take international.

    • Bridge the gap between the business and IT, define future processes and present business requirements to key stakeholders.
    • Work with the Business Operations to clearly understand needs and product requirements; liaise with internal stakeholders and development team to deliver the project scope.

    What you will need


    • Experience of working in financial services, ideally in D2C or a platform provider, preferably involving client money and securities trading.
    • Experience running BI projects independently, SQL and analytics skills
    • Knowledge of technical requirements for connectivity with retail clients, third party providers including custodian, CREST etc for equities and ETFs are highly advantageous.
    • The ability to restructure complex problems, making them more manageable, and to assist colleagues — with a service delivery attitude.
    • Awareness of the changing investment industry and the curiosity to find opportunities in technology, market developments, regulatory/legal changes.
    • At least 3 years of directly relevant experience. Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.

    Marketing Analyst
    InvestEngine (UK) Limited is a wealth management firm that delivers smart-designed portfolios expertly managed to put our clients' money to work. InvestEngine's senior management team has extensive experience in the financial services industry working with other multi-award-winning independent investment management firms.

    We're looking for a Marketing Analyst to join our team to help us add power to our client acquisition efforts. From analysing past campaigns, client data and business intelligence, to unearthing new opportunities to grow our business.

    The ideal candidate will have a passion and skill for gathering, displaying and understanding data and being able to articulate the numbers and trends into actionable ideas. They'll have a strong understanding of the fundamentals of data analysis whilst also being well-versed in marketing and business growth.

    They would have a successful track record of helping consumer facing businesses, preferably in the finance sector, grow and optimising their acquisition channels in a fast-paced environment.

    What you'll do:


    • Structure our existing data sources into accessible dashboards for adhoc & regular analysis
    • Current marketing channels include PPC, display, social, email, referral & affiliates
    • Business sources include Zendesk, Xero, Hubspot and Google Analytics
    • Work with the business to define the strategy for upcoming marketing efforts — using insight from the data to optimise existing channels and spot opportunities to try new ideas to boost our acquisition efforts and brand awareness
    • Get under the hood of core business metrics - aligning our marketing and business efforts with a core set of KPIs
    • Provide regular reports on marketing and business performance

    Qualifications:

    • 2+ years experience in B2C marketing analysis in a high-performing team and company or agency with aggressive growth goals
    • Strong experience in planning and executing data analysis
    • Experience and understanding of the full marketing funnel, respective KPIs, multi-touch attribution and related financial metrics
    • Strong communication skills
    • Highly proactive with a willingness and ability to get hands dirty
    • Ability to coordinate across multiple teams
    • Experience and understanding of finance or the finance industry is a plus

      About the role

      We are looking for a self-starting, driven and engaging Talent Acquisition and HR hire to join our expanding UK team. This role will involve coordinating searches and hiring processes for new roles, liaising hiring managers and senior management over hiring strategies and overseeing standard HR processes for our UK operation.
      Given the nature and demands of the role, it is available on a full time or part time basis dependent on the experience and flexibility needs of the right candidate.

        Partnership Manager

        About the role

        We are looking for B2B partnership specialist to be a key member of our team in London. This person will establish our Partnership team, responsible for creating and maintaining key B2B relationships that drive our SME customer growth. As a start-up with little brand recognition, you will have to sell InvestEngine to potential partners, leveraging our great growth trajectory and potential customer base. You will also need to think creatively in allocating resource to achieve our strategic goals, targeting the right partners, and creating relationships that will evolve and grow with the business.

        Our expectations of you

        • You will carry out the role of Partnership manager, responsible for B2B business development and creation of our Partnership network
        • Develop our B2B2C strategy for partners that can facilitate SME account acquisition and integration with third party business servicing platforms
        • Lead the entire partnership process; identify opportunities, create beneficial relationships and agree on commercial terms.
        • Monitor acquisition channels, analyse partnership quality, and adjust the strategy based on data driven metrics.
        • Have a basic understanding on development process and timeframes for partner integrations
        • Have a fundamental understanding of financial services, the products offered by InvestEngine and keep up to date on industry developments

        What you will need

        • Experience creating and developing business partnerships in financial services
        • Understanding of financial markets, investing and distribution channels for retail investment products.
        • Basic UK regulatory knowledge of high risk B2B areas such as inducements, bribery, G&E.

            Operations Assistant

            About the Role

            After a successful product launch and substantial growth, we're looking for an
            Operations Assistant to help us keep moving forward. From onboarding customer accounts to processing payments and assisting daily investment cycles, the ideal candidate will be involved across multiple operational processes. InvestEngine is growing every day, with operations providing a perfect opportunity to see all aspects of the business.
            The ideal candidate will have a passion for detailed orientated tasks and be able to complete them to a consistently high standard. They'll be organised and be able to thrive with a process-driven mindset. Due to the dynamic and be adaptable in a fast-paced environment with a positive can-do attitude to new challenges.

            Key Responsibilities:

            • Keying transactions across multiple product types in a broad range of financial instruments
            • Processing internal bank account cash transfers
            • Being trained on the business products as well as learning day to Operations tasks which help support the Investment team
            • Set up, administration and management of customer accounts and portfolios, including undertaking manual changes where required.
            • Reviewing Bank Statements, KYC documentation and if required, requesting further information from customers according to InvestEngine's procedures.
            • Recurring tasks to ensure all systems remain accurate and up to date
            • Supporting the Head of Operations and Operations Team with ad hoc duties

            What you will need

            • 1-2 years working in an Administrative role either in a client support role or financial operations
            • Basic knowledge of applicable UK regulation with respect to AML, KYC and general onboarding requirements.
            • Ability to take on personal responsibility for data security, including systems access, encryptions and data handling.
            • Knowledge of MS Office including Word and Excel
            • Track record of delivering process-driven tasks applying strong attention to detail and accuracy
            • Good communication skills, written and oral.
            • Preferably educated to degree level
